Why Mapsource is not recognizing my Etrex GPS?

I think, Mapsource is still there but due to a minor problem your Garmin Etrex can not be able to recognize it. Mapsource uses files stored on the P.C. If you download files to your P.C without Basemap, problem may arise.You have stated that you have downloded Mapsource software but it is not known that whether Basemap was there or not.Probably,Basemap was not installed or due to some technical reason it was wiped out from your P.C if was earlier installed.Basemap reads map directly from Etrex.You check first whether Basemap was downloaded into your P.C.,if not,download the same to your P.C.You will find that your problem is solved thereafter.Your Etrex GPS will be able to recognize Mapsource.
