Does anybody manages to see the inline images in gmail? How can I do so?

Does anybody manages to see the inline images in gmail? How can I do so? Well for some reason whenever I select 'show pictures' I don't always get to see the inline images, why is that? I instead get to see the image outline along with a small blue box that contains a question mark right in the centre. But for some emails although the inline images do work but then again not for the others. I ma so irritated by it now, how do I help myself and manage to see the inline images in gmail? Is it possible that it can have something to do with a sender using the outlook?

From my experience, inline images work just fine on Outlook or on Windows Live mail. But if you do think, that might be an issue do try it with a browser like Firefox/Chrome and see if you have the same problem. I used to have similar problems with older versions of IE.

In the case that the inline images are not displayed even on a browser, then give these a try.

  • Click on the "Display images from <sender's email ID>" link found right below the sender and receiver information at the top of your email message while using Gmail. By doing so you enable the option for future emails from the same sender.
  • Else go to the Setting page by clicking the appropriate icon on the upper right corner and select the tab "Labs". There would be a gadget option that allows you to "add" inline images in your emails. Enable that. Save changes. I know, this has nothing to do with viewing sent images in your email but this had worked for me while using IE.

Another angle of approach would be to check if you have an issue with viewing images sent from a particular ID.

Hopefully this helps. If nothing works, try forwarding the same email to a different server like Hotmail or Yahoo to check if the problem really is with the Gmail server.
