How to get a mac os x screen capture?

I need to send this error log message to a troubleshooting company. It is regarding a USB recording interface for mac. So I need to send them a screenshot of this error. How can we get a mac os x screen capture?

To capture a Mac OS X sreen capture just press SHIFT and 3 together(SHIFT+3) and save it as a file in the desktop.

Instead of using the keyboard shortcuts above, screenshot can also be taken by using the Grab application included with Mac OS X. It is located at /Applications/Utilities/Grab.
