We all have seen lots of video glasses. Most of them are merely meant to show a 10 feet screen just in front of your eyes. Well, they won’t often have any other major uses. After you watch a movie, you will have to remove the specs to come back into the real life vision. It is here Lumus has introduced a pair of see-through HD video glasses. As it indicates, you won’t have to take away these glasses to see things beyond the films. It is transparent and see-through goggles that you can wear in to see things apart from the visuals. The glasses can even be tuned for folks with eyesight problems.

Lumus has been working on this pair of spectacular see-through glasses for a while. It is now about to appear on market after some testing. The pair of glasses will offer better quality HD videos in front of your eyes. The wearable glasses will also have the feature to interact with the world through augmented reality (AR). Lumus is reportedly looking for a partner to use the technology in videos games, media players or AR displays.
Lumus has implemented a pair of light pumps into the earpieces, thus moving electronic parts away from the eyes. The light pumps send and refract light down to the lens to realize the great HD visuals in front of your eyes. You can see a crystal clear display ten feet away. The display will seemingly have a large 87-inch size and each screen of the glasses will have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Great quality visuals will be the point that will make the Lumus display unique out in stores.
It is also made to display 3D contents. You can enjoy 3D video in 720p (1080p is on its way). In 3D viewing also, clarity is astonishing. Lumus is also preparing iPhone compatible adapter to show HD video contents right through the pumps of the glasses. After all, once the video is disabled, the Lumus glasses are just a pair of plain glasses for your eyes. You can watch things outside through the glasses.
As per reports, Lumus is to showcase its new pair of glasses at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES-2012) in Las Vegas. However, like its previous glasses, the company does not intend to sell it directly. Lumus is looking forward for partners from AR or video gaming industries to pack the glasses in their new products. According to analysts, glasses like this will replace handheld screens. More features will come up in such glasses; thus, users can have a more immersive video watching experience.
