Logitech launches M600, a Windows 7 touch mouse with gestures

Renowned PC accessory maker Logitech has unveiled a new Windows 7-only touch-enabled mouse with gesture features. Called the Touch Mouse M600, the new Logitech mouse comes with a single clickable button, which is covered with a touch sensitive layer. The M600 flaunts a new feel and functionality, which makes it entirely different from other touch mice from Logitech, as well as the Apple Magic Mouse and Microsoft Touch Mouse.

The M600 connects with your Windows 7 PC through Logitech’s small Unifying USB dongle. A pair of AA batteries powers the mouse for ensuring reliable and long performance. Going by aesthetics, the M600 is not that prettier; the plastic-made mouse looks like a roach. The top layer has a sci-fi pattern and the entire front part features the touch capability. If you press the left and right sides of the touch panel, it means prompting the left and right buttons.

The Logitech mouse doesn’t offer that many gestures. You can make a vertical swipe to scroll up and down a page and a horizontal swipe to go forward and backward. The new Logitech mouse does not require users to install any drivers. Once you connect the accessory with your PC, the plug-in is installed automatically.

Logitech plans to sell the Touch Mouse M600 for $69.99. It will be up for grabs in a few weeks in the U.S. Before picking one, keep in mind that the M600 mouse is meant only for Windows 7 computers. Mac users will have to go for other options like the Performance MX from Logitech or others.
