what is the location of registry backup file?


As we know that windows stores its configuration related information in a database which is called the registry and if we imperfectly edit the registry it can damage your system. I want to locate registry file so that I can recover the corrupted registry that prevents my Windows XP from running…so pls tell me

ntbackup [/ nopoll] [/ missingtape]


/ Nopoll


Specifies that the tape should be deleted. Do not use / nopoll with any other parameter.


/ Missingtape


When the backup set requires multiple tapes, specifies that it has lost one of them. Each tape becomes a single unit, rather than join the group.


You can create a script to perform batch automatically and periodically backup one, or
several units. However, the use of process files batch (batch) only allows you to create backups of directories, but not individual files. Moreover, in the files by lots is not permitted to use wildcard characters.


Syntax:


ntbackup operation path [/ a] [/ v] [/ r] [/ d "text"] [/ b
] [/ Hc: {on | off}] [/ t {option}] [/ l "filename"] [
/ I] [/ tape: {n}]


Parameters:


operation


Specifies the operations, backup or eject.


Each of the following parameters (except / tape) can only parameter used with the backup operation.


Route


Specifies one or more directory paths to copy.


/ A


Makes backup sets are added or annexations after the last set of backup tape. When
not specified / a, the program reuses the tape and replace previous data. When you specify more than one unit but not specify / a, the program overwrites the contents of the tape with the information from the first drive selected and then annexed the
copy sets of the remaining units.


/ V


Check the operation.


/ R


Restrict access.


/ D "text"


Specifies a description of the contents of the backup.


/ B


Specifies to create a backup of the local registry.


/ Hc: on or / hc: off


Specifies whether hardware compression is active or inactive.


/ T {option}


Specifies the type of backup. The option can be one of the
following:


normal copy
differential incremental
daily
/ L "filename"


Specifies the name of log file backup.


/ E


Specifies that the log backup should include only exceptions.


/ Tape: {n}


Specifies the tape drive in which to save a copy of up files. N is a number from 0 to 9 that corresponds to number assigned to the tape drive when it was installed.
