LG tests new Anti-Mosquito air conditioner

An air conditioner is one of the few must haves for people that have to bear the 40 degree Celsius plus heat of the tropics. Even though LG Electronics enjoys a cozy market share in the residential air conditioning segment, it is all set to tip the scales in its favor with a new “anti-mosquito” unit that can take care of buyers’ insecticide woes while keeping their homes cool and humidity-free.

To repel mosquitoes, these new residential air conditioners use ultrasonic sound waves that were reported to have repelled almost 82 percent of female Anopheles mosquitoes present in a room in a 24-hour period during testing. Since malaria continues to be a prevalent threat in a major part of Asia as well as Africa, this new kind of air conditioner can actually be a life-saver in more ways than one.

The quality of life improving air conditioning units will continue to enjoy the same high tech home cooling solutions and technologies that include greater energy savings, efficient and fast cooling and dehumidifying and indoor deodorizing. LG has not yet confirmed when the new anti-mosquito air conditioner will officially hit the markets, how many variants will be offered in the series and the pricing and availability for the range but we have a sneaky feeling it might become an instant best seller whenever it hits stores.
