Lenovo LePad S2005 is the second 5 inch Android tablet we have heard about recently. Samsung has just unveiled its much expected Galaxy Note 5.3 inch tablet with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The new Lenovo tablet, which is slated to land in stores next month, will raise stiff challenge to Galaxy Note. LePad S2005, which you can address either as a tablet or smartphone, will have a 5 inch 800 x 480 LTPS display and better tech specifications.

What’s new?
Lenovo LePad S2005 just follows Samsung Galaxy Note. Though many analysts are confused about the possible success of a 5 inch tablet, Samsung and Lenovo have braved to roll out 5 inch tablets. Of course, let us hope both devices will not face the fate of Dell Streak, the first 5 inch tablet, which could not make any movements in the tablet market.
What’s been refreshed?
The new 5 inch tablet from Lenovo is equipped with high end components and tech specs. Besides sporting a better 800 x 480 LTPS display, the tablet is to come up with 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, 1.3 megapixel front camera, HDMI out, Wi Fi and a 1650mAh battery.
Features walkthrough
a. 5 inch display: Unlike Samsung Galaxy Note, LePad S2005 sports a bit smaller 5 inch display. Note has a 5.3 inch display. Lenovo is to mount a decent 800 x 480 LTPS display that can bring you better clarity images, videos and WebPages.
b. Better processing speed: The Lenovo tablet features a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM for better performance and processing speed. You can watch movies, surf web and do other activities with no delay on the device.
c. Cameras: The tablet mounts a 5 megapixel rear camera for image capturing and recording video at 1080p. It also has a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calls.
d. Highly portable: Thanks to its small size and display, LePad S2005 is ultra portable. You can carry the gadget anywhere you want with no effort. Portability is certainly a feature that will be craved when one intends to buy a 5 inch tablet.
What’s good?
Lenovo LePad S2005 runs on Android 2.3.5 and packs in Qualcomm dual core 1.2GHz chip, 1GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel 1080p camera and 1,680mAh battery for long battery backup. The device indeed is a wonderful product with these features. For any customer, who wants a small and portable tablet, LePad S2005 will be a great choice now. The device also raises threat to Galaxy Note, the only leading tablet with a 5 inch display.
What’s not so good?
The tablet is not to appear in shelves across the world. Initially, Lenovo will launch LePad S2005 only for Chinese customers. The company has also not announced price tag for the tablet. Low resolution is another problem of the device. It comes with the same resolution of Dell Streak, meaning that it will fail absolutely in the presence of Galaxy Note that has a Super AMOLED display with high definition.
Industry buzz
The Verge notes that Lenovo LePad S2005 raises the confusion whether it is a tablet or smartphone. The 5 inch S2005 occupies the same confusion, is it a phone or a tablet space as Dell's Streak 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Notably, Dell Streak was one of first tablets in the world. The 5 inch tablet hit stores with Android 1.6 and later was updated to Android 2.2 Froyo. The tablet, however, did not attract lots of customers.
Price and availability
Lenovo has not yet announced the price tag of the tablet. It will appear in Chinese market next month.
Wrap up
Indeed, with its 5 inch display, Lenovo LePad S2005 will hoist critical challenge to other 5 incher's like Samsung Galaxy Note and Dell Streak. The second one has already lost its sheen. Now, people will have to choose from Galaxy Note and LePad S2500. Both devices show many similarities in tech specs and features. However, Galaxy Note comes for a price around $1000. So if Lenovo could price its LePad S2005 below Galaxy Note, it can simply gain soil in the market, which is thick with lots of tablets in various screen sizes.
