For those crazy about interesting DIY projects, this one would surely be of interest. The kinetic visualizer does not in any way help you attain or do any task as such. It is simply a harmonograph, a machine that is used for visualizing the movement of time. Harmonographs were actually invented in 1844 by the Scottish mathematician Hugh Blackburn. This project is exactly not a streamlined one. Let's take a look at how it works.

Created by Ka'eo Helder, the kinetic visualizer comes with discs for procuring patterns or drawings on white sheets. The dials are used for controlling the speed of the discs which are located on top. Based on the speed, the drawings too will vary and will be different each time you operate the harmonograph. The harmonious motion that is recorded as patterns is very enthralling.
The pen can be inserted on to the hole provided on the holder. When the dials move, the holder too starts moving in varying patterns based on the speed provided by the controller. The magnets which are fixed inside the harmonograph help in attaching the controllers at the sides of the device.
The device being of artistic proportions can be a wonderful past time for kids who love to draw. The fact that each time a new and exciting pattern is created will keep boredom away as well. As there is provision for two pens, you may also create patterns by using two pens at a time instead of one pen. Try using various color combinations to achieve beautiful results from the harmonograph.
The pleasant scope for varying geometric patterns created by harmonographs will always keep our interest in this device fresh and the scope for experimentation is endless as well. If you love making DIY projects, this one is surely one project that you can get your hand dirty with.
