How to make kde gnome icons?

I want to make icons for my desktop and I have heard that kde gnome is the best one for this. I also want to make full adaptation for many services notifications, toolbars, menus, applets and aplications of KDE. I also want to style and decorate windows color like similar to the gnome manager. But I do not know the process of adding kde gnome icons to my linux desktop. If some has any experience with this please tell me also ……a quick reply will be appreciated …..thanks in advance

I think I can help you with it. I had many applications, which I used on a daily basis, and those were installed by default, but had no desktop icon. I thought that rather than searching the menu hierarchy, I would much rather click an icon and have that program launched. This gave me an idea to launch an application on my KDE desktop, and I am quite happy with it! If we really go through the details, most of the Linux installs include thousands of applications, but not all the applications get an icon on either the KDE or GNOME desktop. In case you want to launch one of those applications from the desktop, you need to create an icon for it. I’ll tell you how! For KDE, I will provide a systematic procedure to you, as I followed:

Start with a clean desktop.

The first thing now, is that you need to right-click on the desktop, which will bring up the default mouse menu.

After this, you need to Select New, which will bring up a sub-menu.

Now, once you make your selection, the Link Properties window will open.

Here, we are ready to configure this icon. You can create an icon to the KDE terminal. The first thing you can do is to name the Link in the General tab. Let’s take it as Konsole. In this same tab, you can choose a different icon to represent the Konsole application. Now click the icon button (to the left ofthe text area) and a choose window will appear where you can locate a more appropriate icon.

Once you have selected your icon, click OK to return to the General tab.

Now you can move on to the Application tab, which is the heart of the icon.

You are required to fill in the details here completely. Here is the necessary text:

· Description: KDE Terminal Application

· Comment: Konsole

· Command: /usr/bin/konsole

This is the end of it. Click OK and your new icon should appear on the desktop.

Now when you will double-click on that icon, it will open the konsole application.

I hope the steps here would help you! Have a rocking day!!
