How to jailbreak iphone 4.0?

Finally the long wait for iPhone OS 3.1.3 and jailbreak and unlock iOS 4.0 is more like iPhone Dev Team has released two Ultrasn0w 0.93 unlock tool Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 jailbreak tool for IOS 4.0. Fortunately, the tools were released immediately after iOS 4.0 was launched.

We've already covered how to unlock iPhone 4.0 with Ultrasn0w 3GS/3GS 0.93 and now here is our guide on how to jailbreak iOS 4.0 final on iPhone 3G.

Please note: Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 is still in beta mode so you have to let Cydia reorganize, reload and update after using redsn0w.

2. Download iTunes 9.2

3. Download Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5

4. Now, follow our guide to manually update iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3G

5. After upgrading the iPhone 3G with IOS 4.0 Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 home.

6. Click the Browse button and select the iPhone 3G firmware 4.0 (iPhone1, 2_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw) downloaded in step 1

7. Now click Next and Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 prepare the data for jailbreak.

8. Now select "Install Cydia" and click Next. (If you want to disable multitasking and wallpapers then uncheck Options respective singles).

9. Now you have to turn the iPhone 3G and connect to the computer after click next button Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5.

10. At this stage you will have to put your iPhone in DFU mode, waiting for that "power" and then holding the button "Power", which will now have to hold "Home" button for 10 seconds also. Now, after a few seconds release "Power" button but keep holding "Home" to start the installation (about 30 seconds).

11. Now just wait until Redsn0w completes the rest of the process. Once done, the iPhone 3G will restart automatically and you will find that the jailbreak with the iPhone firmware version 4.0. release
