iShred - The ultimate 'adventurous' tribute in the form of an iPad inside a snowboard

This question may not have popped in many people's mind, but how do snowboarders pay their heartfelt respect to the late Steve Jobs? The answer may seem to be a tad bit offbeat, but actually it is pretty much simple - by building an iPad snowboard. Yes, I know your braincells are working round their shifts to make sense of what I just said. Well, stop thinking, because the iPad snowboard is exactly as the phrase suggests - an iPad built inside a customized snowboard.

Some fun loving folk over at California based Signal Snowboards decided to do something unique in their 'creative' third Thursday specials. Previously such innovative yet frolicking conceptions included a board with a paintball gun, one with a built-in boom box and another one which also posed as an electric guitar (supposed inspired by the sonorous bass playing of Guns N Roses's Duff McKagan). This time around, they decided to weigh it down on the outrageous scale by paying their heartfelt tribute to former Apple's front man - the late Steve Jobs. And, what better way to do it then infusing a full fledged iPad 2 contraption inside a custom made snowboard.

Christened aptly as the iShred, the inspiration from Apple goes beyond the conspicuous iPad system embedded inside the board. According to the designers, they have furnished an aluminum body for the board in allusion to the Mac series of Apple. The conception even has the bottom logo (with its location reminiscent of Apple); though this time the mark smartly advertises the logo of Signal Snowboards.

Coming to its maneuvering capacity, aluminum is one of the lightest metals found in our mineral system. But still it is heavier than the conventional plastic component (with steel strip) found in normal snowboards. This means, while your board is certainly high tech electronically, you will find it a tad bit difficult to swerve along the directional angles at a good speed. Then again, the weight does have its own advantage in allowing a greater degree of inertia, and thus improving one's sweeping technique in a downhill scenario.

Of course, the best part of the conception is the post high octane adventure period, when you are done with your fair share of winter outdoor activity. You come back to your cabin for a sip of hot cocoa, and while you are settling for a snugly evening, you can always turn on your 'snowboard' to discuss your snow filled, adrenaline rushed exploits with your Facebook friends around the globe.

But do not begin to count your chickens (or in this case your long saved money) before they hatch. That is because the iShred is just a one off conception entirely built with a purpose of showcasing a 'fun filled' tribute to Apple and Steve Jobs. As for commercialization, iPad is already touted to take around 83 percent of tablet market in the United States. And with this boisterous commendation from the winter sport world, things can only look brighter for our exalted iOS powered contraption.
