How to install windows 7 and ubuntu on same computer?

I am running my computer on windows 7 right now. A friend of mine introduced me to ubuntu. I think it is a totally awesome operating system. I really like it and would like to install it on my computer. I have got a CD from my friend. But I would also like to keep my old operating system windows 7 just like this. I want the computer to ask me which OS to log to on every reboot. How do I do this with windows 7 and ubuntu?

Ubuntu is one of the easiest and widely appreciated versions from Linux. It is really cool kind of operating system and is good for those who want to try it for the first time. I myself installed ubuntu a few days back but make it a dual boot with window vista which is already installed in my system. The procedure is really easy you don’t have to do anything but just get a CD of the set up of Ubuntu. . You can order one from the Ubuntu website for free. Or download and install software that can burn an ISO image to a CD, such as InfraRecorder, and download the Ubuntu ISO from the Ubuntu website. Close the program and reboot the CD, select the install option and you will be preceded further. You got to select make partition option and it will take you to the partition menu at the same time securing your window operating system. Make the partitions and select swap area. After that system will take a little time for checking out software and files. Thanks
