How do you install old spec games on new operating systems?

Hi, I have an old game that was originally brought out during the Windows 98 era, I have XP on my laptop but I remember trying to install it on an XP station before and it didn’t work. Aside from installing a virtual machine is there any way I can install it on XP? How do you install old spec games on new operating systems? I would really appreciate your useful information pertaining to my query. Please revert at the earliest. Thanks.

You have only three options open for solving your problem. These are compatibility, virtualization and dual booting. According to your query, you have to test the compatibility of the old games in the Windows XP. For doing this, you have to right click on the game and select properties. After that select compatibility and run your old game. Next, you can think about the virtualization in the Windows operating system. This option is a foolproof and sure shot. You will never fail, if you follow it. One interesting point, to tell you that you will get the benefit of virtualization without using the dual booting option. As, you can save your disk space without compromising the performance of your computer. For this context, you may use VMware Workstation for your computer. Because, this workstation will make your gaming experience in the old windows platform wonderful. It is true that older games need the less memory. Therefore, you can run in the virtual environment without any trouble. The dual booting is only applicable when you have a lot of space in your hard disk and you are desperate to taste the older games in the older windows arena. Otherwise, you should follow the virtual environment for your old games.
