How to increase shared graphics memory?

I just finished reinstalling a fresh window on my computer. Earlier I had some graphics problem and they were not smooth. So on a suggestion I increased the shared graphics memory. Now again the same thing is happening. So I want to change it again however I don't remember how I did that. Tell me how to increase shared graphics memory?

Graphics memory can be shared from your RAM but that is bound to lower the performance speed of your computer. The applications will take more time to load, the games may move slow and your windows explorer will take time to cut, copy and paste.

The best option is probably to buy a new graphic card. These days a lot of graphic cards are available at much lower prices.

Anyways I will tell you the step by step procedure to increase the shared memory for graphics in your computer.

1. Restart your computer.

2. Enter into BIOS settings.

3. Select 'integrated peripherals menu'.

4. Select 'AGP aperture size'.

5. Choose the amount of memory you want to share between your RAM and your graphic card.

* Just make sure that if you are using windows vista or windows Xp, you require a minimum RAM of 128 MB. For any older OS you must leave atleast 64 MB of space for the RAM.
