Does anybody have any ideas on how to make robots out of standard PC parts?

Well, I need some help on make robots topic. Actually, I believe that it would be cool to make robots out of standard computer parts .I outlined that we need to make your own interface card so that the CPU can send the proper instructions to the servos. Has anybody have any ideas to make robots out of standard PC parts? I need experienced response on the topic only. So, please help me out.

Recently technology and parts available even beginners can build robots. Building your first robot can be very glorious as you learn what components are required and the number of options available to personalize your robot. This article will take beginners through the process of selecting a robot platform easy to build.

  • For your first robot, select an easy way to make your robot move. Bipedal (walking) movement is probably more difficult to avoid this method unless you already have experience. Consider a driving wheel robot platform (not R2-D2 C-3PO). A power wheel robot is very stable, has less moving parts making it easier to construct and less expensive, and has a very solid structure, with space for the internal electronics.
  • Make the body of the robot. This is a beginner robot that simple. Once you understand the electronics will have to spend some time customizing the body of the robot. For now, a cheap tupperware dish with a solid top will work. The cap is the base of the robot on wheels and electronics can be mounted. You can easily cut through the plastic when wheels, sensors, etc. need to extend outside the body of the robot.
  • Select a type of engine to drive the robot. There are three main types of engines used by builders to make your move robots robots, servo motors, DC motors and stepper motors. Each engine type has strengths and weaknesses. In this paper, mainly to discuss the use of servo motors because of its great combination of parts, Controller options, to weight ratio power, precision and cost.
  • You will need continuous rotation servos. There are several manufacturers that now make this type of servos for use on robots, including the Hi tech HSR-1425CR and GWS S35 STD. You can also modify a standard servo motor to rotate continuously. The Hi tech HS-322HD or HS-325HB are perfect for this modification.
