Any idea on Auto-CAD 2009 windows 7 compatibility?

I am an Mechanical Engineering student. I am working on Auto-CAD 2009. I mostly use it in the labs but I want to install it on my laptop too. I have a windows 7 operating system. Tell me a little about Auto-CAD 2009 windows 7 compatibility. Are they compatible? Which OS works best with Auto-CAD 2009.

You are familiar with AutoCAD 2009 version because you are already using it for your experiment and presentations. But, AutoCAD 2009 version is officially not a compatible version for latest operating system like Windows 7. In simple words, AutoCAD 2009 will not support Windows 7. With 32bit and 64bit capacity 2010 and later versions of AutoCAD will support your operating system. You can also opt for AutoCAD LT which is fully supported by auto desk and compatible for Microsoft Windows 7 OS. Still if you want to run old versions like 2009 on Windows 7 then you have to go for Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Windows 7 OS has XP mode compatibility. So, take help from AutoCAD support assistance for third party assistance. Meanwhile you can follow these steps:

1. contact directly to AutoCAd support assistance.

2. download AutoCAD menu for your guidance and installation process.

3. insert your AutoCAD disk.

4. open computer band click start from the pop-up menu

5. do right click on .exe file of 2009 AutoCAD

6. choose properties under compatibility mode

7. under compatibility tab you will find message like "run this program in compatibility mode for" and then you choose Windows 7 or Vista

8. on display box this message should come " run this program as an administrator"

9. click "ok" button to save settings and to install software for further process. Follow the instructions to install AutoCAD. Restart your PC and use it nicely.
