HTC patent design uncovers a possible portable media player

A 2011 patent application from HTC overtly points to a potential multimedia player from the Taiwan tech maker. Well, the key Android product supplier is clearly working on an iPod touch killer. Such a product is certainly pragmatic and holds a great significance as we have just received Google Play, an iTunes challenger from Google. Think of an HTC portable media player with Google Play? Doesn’t that sound awesome?

The new design from HTC features multiple speakers and a superior back stand. There is no detailing on the device’s bandwidths like GSM, 3G or 4G LTE in the application. It is enough to think that HTC looks for a portable media player or personal digital assistant (PDA), opines Patent Bolt. In its application, HTC has just described the product as a ‘handheld electronic Device'.

The design shows two front speakers at each end of the device. In the rear part, there is also a pair of speakers. The arrangement of the speakers and the rear stand makes it clear that the upcoming device will be highly suitable for watching YouTube videos, movies and TV shows. Placing on its back stand, the device will look an amazing product to watch multimedia content.

HTC’s chief rival Samsung already features a couple of Galaxy Player in fight against iPod touch. The HTC patent application reveals that the company may also float up a powerful competitor to iPad touch. HTC filed the patent application in Q1 2011 and the U.S Patent and Trademark Office recently published it.
