Hotels (or at least the expensive ones among them) have evolved beyond the scope of just lodgings paid on a short term basis. In the opulent scheme of things, it is more about that marvelous and remarkable experience that one can have, be it in their swanky yet palatial mega suites or in the sun drenched, umbrella populated plaza by the pool. And as this ostentatious evolution has taken its course, so has equally progressed its contemporary bearing, its architectural advancement and modernistic outlook. In relation to this, the tourism industry now foresees some very interesting and intriguing attributes of the hotels of the future. Some of them will fascinatingly act as foldable pods, while some will be exclusively located underground. So, without further palaver, let us check out some of the high-tech hotels and concepts of the future:
Edit
1. Galactic Suite Space Hotel
Believe me; it is not just the name that sounds highfalutin. According to the designers, this will be earth’s very first orbiting space hotel, which can take you on a space trip around the world in 80 minutes. The linked pod structure will have the appearance of a giant molecule, while its accommodations will be zoned into three bedrooms with a bath. And as for user circulation, the guests will be wearing special Velcro lined suits, thus allowing them to stick by the walls.

2. Hydropolis Underwater Hotel, Dubai
This proposed ethereally striking £300m project was supposed to be the first underground luxury hotel in the world. To be located near a stretch of beach property in Dubai, the hotel structure itself was envisaged in three different components - the landing station (for the guests to arrive), the transportation system and finally a huge submarine complex with a whopping 220 suites. And the ambitious part is that the whole project would have taken up an expansive area equal to that of Hyde Park in London.

3. Ark Hotel
At the first instance, it may look like having some extraterrestrial origin, but in actuality the super-futuristic 14,000sq m Ark Hotel in will be a see-through bubble like structure. Constructed of wooden arches, steel cables and a special plastic layer, the whole 'building' will be self sustaining with embedded solar panels and a rainwater collection system. Coming to the structural part, the arches and cables will fixed in an optimized manner so as to resist earthquakes.

4. Death Star Lunar Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan
Christened as the Hotel Full Moon, this wondrous conception is poised to be created on the shores of Caspian Sea, in the capital of Azerbaijan. Now, Star Wars fans sit up and take notice - because the designers here (Heerim Architects) have envisaged this building to look like the exalted yet ominous Death Star from one angle. As for specifications, the 35 floor hotel will be 150 m high with 382 large rooms.

5. Trump International Hotel & Tower
You may hate Donald Trump's hairdo, but you will find very few reasons to vent it on this fascinating concept. To be located in Palm Jumeirah, a manmade island off the west coast of Dubai, the design pattern follows the blue print of its North American counterparts. As for user based zoning, the building will be divided into separate hotel and residential spaces along with offices.

6. Aerotel
Looking like an infestation of (sober and artistic) Tyranids, the Aerotel will be a 'suspended' webbed-structure hotel held by three arms fixed on supports. The 200m wide upper ring membrane will acts as recreational spatial volume with cafes, restaurants and gardens. As for accessibility, the multitude of visitors can came through the bank side as well as through an air strip.

7. Aeroscraft Luxury Hotel
A grandiose blend of the past and future, this dirigible conception may look like those zeppelins out of the 30's. But the Aeroscraft in actuality is heavier than air (14 cubic ft of helium can only hoist two third of the total weight), while its streamlined body is powered by mammoth propellers situated at the rear part. Coming to user oriented features, the craft can travel up to a range of 6,000 miles, while having the capacity for 250 passengers.

8. The Lunatic Hotel
Who can deny the thrills and frills of the ever exotic moon surface? In relation to this, designer Hans-Jurgen Rombaut of the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture has envisaged the 'Lunatic Hotel'. It will comprise of two 160-meters high slanting towers with habitable and recreational compartments for the travelers. As for structure, their hull would be made of moon rock, while carrying layers of drinkable water for the inhabitants.

9. Poseidon Undersea Resorts
Almost sounding like Jules Verne's fantasy, the Poseidon Undersea Resorts is an ambitious project that planned to be constructed underwater, off the coast of Fiji. To e located 40ft below water level, the entire hotel will be set on an expansive 5,000-acre (20 km2) coral lagoon. The building will include features such as a restaurant, bungalows, suites and a lounge - all of which will be accessible by a submarine.

10. MORPHotel
As the name suggests, this fascinating hotel design will actually be able to change its shape, according to prevailing weather conditions and the site morphology. Conceptualized by Gianluca Santosuosso, the structure will encompass a floating spatial element, which will be linearly formed around a 'central spine'. As for functionality, the sea-borne hotel will serve as an exploration venue for marine enthusiasts as well as a harbor extension for various coastal cities.
