Why my GPS system is giving wrong information?

I am using a Garmin nuvi 3790t from almost one year. Previously it was working very fine but from last few days it is giving me wrong information. Yesterday when I turn it on it was showing that I am at Michigan Ave Chicago IL 60611; even I was in Brooklyn at that time. Some time it also shows me the different location. For fixing this problem I had already restored Garmin nuvi 3790t on factory mode but still not working properly. It is not in warranty any more so what you guys recommend me? Please give me some tips by the help of which I can fix this problem.

Hi i am Trimm if your navigation device says that you are driving the off-road when you are not its possible then your gps coordinates are correct but your device is drawing the road wrong. Some information in your navigation device may be based on older maps prepared before the invention of gps precision. So maps require constant updates to show accurate. Roads continually change due to construction and temporary maintenance. Even a brand new car with an installed navigation system could have outdated or expire map information for example it sat at the dealership for a few months before you bought it. So If you do not install the latest maps or subscribe to an update service so that your navigation system will fall further behind the all times. Another cause of map errors is the software that approximates the location of street addresses.Thank you
