How can I get my GPS out of Simulator mode?

I have Garmin 50LM that worked fine. But recently when I left it to charge all night and returned to find it was on. It is now locked on GPS simulator ‘ON.’ The screen changes and I hit off but it keeps coming back GPS simulator ‘ON.’ I cannot get it out of Simulator mode. How can I get my GPS out of Simulator mode? I would really appreciate if someone can help me regarding this. Please help. Thanks.

Most of the Garmin hand held devices for navigation, automatically prompt you to switch to the Simulator Mode whenever they are unable to establish contact with the satellites. The Simulator Mode helps in various purposes such as planning a route to your destination even when you are indoors. If by any chance it has got locked in the GPS ON mode, then you can manually set it to the normal position by following these steps:

Go to Tools> Settings> GPS mode. Here you will encounter two options. GPS Off and Normal. If it shows "GPS OFF", then this indicates that the Garmin device is in the Simulator Mode. If you now want to switch back to the GPS mode, all you have to do is go to Tools> Settings >GPS mode and select "Normal" mode, to get satellites signal back. Hope this helps you solve your problem to a certain extent. The over charging of the handheld device is hot the actual reason for the Simulator Mode to get ON. That may be entirely coincidental. Following the above steps can bring it back to the GPS OFF mode. Alternatively, you can go through the Garmin user manual for further help.
