How can I get Google maps app in my HTC desire if my phone was disconnected while installing it once?

I have HTC desire phone with Google maps app factory installed. The phone was disconnected during the download of the map of France (70% loaded), and now the Google app is not opening up. I have tried to completely uninstall the app by going into ‘Manage applications’ but after doing it when I restarted the phone, one error message occurred that ‘internal error, please insert application and try again’. How can I get Google maps app in my HTC desire if my phone was disconnected while installing it once? How can I free it up for use in UK? I would really appreciate your useful information regarding this. Thanks.

HTC mobile phone comes with all the latest applications. The Google maps application is preinstalled in the device but you said that you removed it and now it is showing an error on your device. So I want to tell you that this error only comes because you removed the preinstalled application from your mobile device, I suggest you that please update the firmware of the mobile device or if the new updates not available in that case lease reinstall the firmware on your device this will help you to not get the error message again. I want to tell you one thing that Google provides you all its applications free of cost from their website; you just need to open the Google website on your mobile device browser and it will automatically suggest you its compatible applications for your mobile device. Select the applications and install it on your Mobile device. It’s very easy.
