Why are Google gadgets showing up blank when trying to open them on iGoogle homepage?

My husband and I both use the same iGoogle home page on our computers. I have a PC, he has a notebook. We have downloaded a few gadgets and he receives his Gmail on the homepage as well. His notebook was packed away unplugged for several months due to house renovations. When he turned it back on he of course had many updates to download. Now however he cannot view his Gmail from the home page (must go to Gmail directly) and many of his gadgets just show up blank trying to open (this included a Doppler weather map, a clock/calendar and a calculator). Even the theme at the top is missing. All of these show up fine on my PC. Why are Google gadgets showing up blank when trying to open them on iGoogle homepage? We are not particularly computer savvy so any help would be appreciated.

If you are having a problem with the Google page showing blank Google gadgets, then you may need to first of all rule out the cause of the gadgets not showing up.

Some of the browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer need to have javascript enabled for the gadgets to work. If by any chance, the javascript has been disabled, then the Google gadgets may not show up on the iGoogle home page. You can also try clearing the cache memory of your browser or deleting cookies. Even after this, the gadgets do not get displayed then you can try removing some of the add-ons on the nrowser that may be the root cause of your problem. After this, restart your computer and try opening the iGoogle page. Always make sure you have the latest and the updated version of the browser.

Another reason for the Google gadgets not showing up is that the gadgets themselves must have been updated and therefore are not showing up.You can try deleting the gadget, clear the browser cache and then add the gadget again. Some gadgets require Flash and if you do not have the latest version of Flash, download it and then try again. Sometimes a simple refreshing of the page or clearing the browser cache may solve your problem.

If still it remains blank, then try refreshing the iGoogle home page by reinstating the home page all over again.
