gAtari 2600 is gaming console zapped to play all kinds of foot tapping music

Jive and groove to the mixed rap music by cTrix, the mastermind behind the gAtari 2600. Shaped pretty much like a guitar, the instrument gives out a mix of rocking music, complete with a combination of hip hop sounds. Converting a 70’s gaming console into his main music board and decking it up further with some other musical modifiers, he was able to create a modern music emitting instrument, gAtari 2600.

By lending a new lease on life to an otherwise obsolete piece of technology, the gizmo designer has been able to recreate the gaming console’s magic live on stage. He has fixed the old gadget with a chip which provides most of the music and titled it as ‘Chiptunes’. Giving the old gaming device company is an equalizer, flanger, hold pedals and some joysticks. The retro look has been completed by cTrix’s own set of pre formatted and self conceived tunes cartridge which fits right into the gaming console's cartridge slot.

Emitting a pleasant, trendy music, the whole idea has been conceived with only one thought in mind. Keeping his mission simple, concise and to the point, the designer has not only ensured proper use of an outdated electronic device but also created something which almost everyone would desire.

GAtari 2600 is like any other music device and incorporates a look very similar to a guitar. While the equalizer, flanger and joysticks have been planted onto the extended rod, the gaming console has been fixed at the base itself. The different sets of emitted music are controlled with the attached joysticks, which command the main functioning of the electronic device. Converting all the video game sounds into intelligent music, cTrix has created his magnificent contraption.

The idea is as unique as the designer’s talent, as he has outdone himself in the past as well. Instead of taking out each and every part of the gaming device to make a smaller version of the guitar, he has chosen to make a monstrous model. I wonder if he has to ever travel with his latest development, how he plans to go about the whole procedure. It may be a task in its own self, but the self realization of creating such a comfortable design and happening product is very self appeasing.

Making use of other gaming devices like Commodore 64, Amiga 500 and Gameboy to liven his wild fantasies, this gargantuan device is absolutely nothing new for the Australian musician. Testing out his new gadget in Japan, he drove the crowds crazy with his foot tapping, head zapping melodies. Groove your moves as you sync your body with this rocking musician’s beats. Let yourself free and experience the thrill of being out of control, all thanks to gAtari 2600.
