How can I fix my GPS to show correct locations?

My Magellan RoadMate is frozen and continually shows me as stationary at a location that I am no longer at. I have turned it off and on, let the battery run out, etc. Why is my GPS showing me as stationary at one location that I am no longer at? Should I reset my GPS? Is there a way for me to reset the GPS? How can I fix my GPS to show correct locations? I would really appreciate your useful advice regarding this. Thanks.

The main problem because the GPS may have stopped working is that the device is not able to connect to the network. The problem could be with the software or firmware of the device, as you have mentioned the devices has already been switched off and on. The option could be of resetting the device or upgrade the firmware. Resting the device: Magellan devices has got the reset button on the right hand side, the button needs to be press and hold for the 10 seconds, and wait for 30 seconds before switching it on. How to upgrade the firmware: Go to the website of the Magellan websites support page. Check your model number and product ID and check the firmware version. For some devices you will need to download and install Content Manager in order to install and update the latest software/map updates. Check the product ID (the first four digits of GPS serial on the rear of your GPS). Even if the above suggested options doesn’t work it is advisable to replace the device if I is under warranty.
