How can I prevent facebook virus video to spread?

I bought a laptop recently and when I tried to log in to facebook it started playing a video and replicating itself by sending it to all the people who were in my friendlist. So guys tell me how can I avoid this? Can it affect my new laptop? Give me some tips to secure it.

If you received a virus like Koobface, through an email or message from a Facebook friend, hope is not lost. Some examples of the e-mail virus generated by Facebook are: "You have been trapped in a hidden camera" or "You look amazing in this new video." You can remove this virus with antivirus software, but may recur. If that's the case, you can take extra steps to get rid of the virus forever.

Instruction

  1. Download and install an antivirus program if you do not already have one. Some versions are free Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft.com / en-us / security_essentials) and AVG Free (free.avg.com).
  2. Open your antivirus software and update it with the latest virus definitions. Your program must have an "Update" to guide you through this.
  3. Disconnect the computer from the Internet, disconnect the network cable or disconnect from the wireless Internet. You may have a switch or button that lets you turn off the wireless connection. If you do not have this option, click the Computer icon, as in the bottom right of the screen - the clock - and click Disconnect
  4. Turn off System Restore on your computer. This is a feature that allows you to restore your computer to its state at an earlier date and time. The virus uses this feature to recover your computer after you delete an antivirus program. Turn off System Restore, click "Start", right click "Computer" and select "Properties." Click "System Protection" in the left side of the window. Click on the main disk, eg "C:" Under Protection Settings, and click "Configure".Click "Turn off system protection" and click "OK" twice.
  5. Restart the computer. Once the screen goes black turns off, press the "F8" key until you see some white text options. Use the arrow keys, select "Safe Mode" option (no network support) and press "Enter".
  6. Open your antivirus program and run a full scan for viruses.
  7. Delete any viruses found the program.
  8. Restart the computer in Safe Mode and run another virus scan. If necessary, choose to delete infected files permanently from your computer and the antivirus quarantine area.
  9. Restart the computer again, this time in normal mode (without pressing "F8").
  10. Run a virus exploration. If no virus is detected, reconnect your computer to the Internet.
