How to extend a partition in Windows 7?

I have three partitions in my computer. I have the OS in my C drive. There are other two drivers out of which one is almost empty. So I was thinking to extend C drive in size to have more game installations. Tell me how to extend a partition in windows 7?

The operating system Windows 7 comes with the built in functionality in the disk management to shrink the partitions or to expand the partitions. There is no requirement of the any software to do this.

To use this utility, type of disk in the windows menu and you will get the result "create and format hard disk partitions". Just click on it and you will get the disk management screen, with all the partitions on your system. Now to extend a partition, in the disk management screen, just right click on the c drive which you want to extend and then select the option " Extend volume " . Then the " extend volume wizard " will appear. On this screen, you can enter the size that you want to extend. This screen shows the total volume size of the disk, Maximum available space and the amount of space which you want to extend. After that click on next option and the extension is done.To reduce the size of disk we can use "shrink the volume".

Apart from this process you can directly install the games in your empty disk drive so that you need not to do extension of your c drive because partition has some advantages like backup of data and installed software.
