Rukus is a portable, solar-powered Bluetooth speaker system from Eton. The device was released at CES 2012 and it will be a great speaker option for environment conscious customers. This small and lightweight speaker system is unique with its Bluetooth capability and solar power option. Well, you can stream music via Bluetooth to the speaker from your smartphones, tablets, PCs and music systems.

Making it more brilliant, Eton Rukus is powered by solar energy. The speaker system comes with a large solar panel atop. In the front part, the speaker system sports simple controls such as power button, a Bluetooth toggle, volume control, aux and bass adjustment buttons. A neat E-ink display helps users view battery status, solar charge levels and Bluetooth status.

The internal lithium battery requires the device to be exposed to six hours direct sunlight for full charge. Also, you can charge the system with an AC adapter or USB cable. The fully charged Rukus will bring you amplified music for several hours. The device seems to be a better pick for outdoor use, thus it will get charged while in use.

Certainly, the speaker will largely attract people who wish to use everything solar-powered. It can be used to stream music from any Bluetooth enabled devices. Since the power comes from solar energy, you won’t have to fear about battery draining when you are outdoors. Eton is to ship the Rukus speaker system in Q2 this year. The product will land in stores for price tag of $149.99.
