I was really excited to know about Angstrom Power’s Hydrogen Fuel cell but I guess Power Air Corporation’s Zinc Air Powerpack is more promising than that. CES 2008 witnessed ZPAC40, which can provide energy equivalent to those of 40 AA alkaline batteries, good enough for charging more than 10 mobile phones in one go.
It is truly portable at just 102 x 63.5 x 19mm, though it weighs 310 grams (I’ll call that light consider the amount of power it provides). It can be used with any device that uses power, it connects to devices using mini-USB port and if your device is unequipped with mini-USB, then there is probably adapter available for it.
ZPAC40 provides power-generation time of 90 days and if unused, it can be reserved for 2 years. This is Power Air Corporation’s first commercial product, and hopefully, we will soon see batteries by the company for mobiles and other power driven devices, which will be using similar Zinc Air Fuel Cell.
