A start-up Zink hopes to get the printer off your desk and put it into your pockets. There is no doubt that without an ink cartridge, the size of a printer can be condensed to the size of an iPod or even smaller. Though, Zink is not going to incorporate the technology into a digital camera but they will offer a pocket-sized printer that can be “embedded in any device” and we can hope for a digicam with built-in printer.
The astounding product will deliver 2- x 3-inch color photographs in the beginning without the need of a single drop of ink. That’s simply amazing. The top secret behind the fact is that it will use a specific paper (polymer containing three crystalline layers) itself in place of ink.
The anticipated price is $99 for the standalone printer and $199 for the camera printer. The specialized paper for the Zink gadgets will cost about $19.95 for a pack of 100 sheets. Let’s see who rolls out the first digicam with integrated printer.
