There were days when we used a pen for the single purpose of writing, but these days, as we are moving into the digital age, everyone can be a secret agent aka Ethan Hunt in their own right. Why so? A digital pen known as the ZPen has been designed by the Dane-Elec Corporation. The ZPen has been made for the purpose of being able to store information that you’ve written on paper or other surfaces in a digital format. An interesting feature is that it can store information in up to 16 different languages, which includes Chinese [Traditional & Simplified], Danish, Dutch and English [UK & US] as well.

As the pen comes with a 1GB USB receiver, once you finish writing you can transfer what was written to your PC or notebook, if you so wish. For using the pen regularly, you will require a 1.2 V NiMH battery and USB cable extender as well as standard ink refills for the writing function. The USB receiver works on XP/Vista/2000 requiring a processing speed of 1 Ghz Pentium III, as well as a minimum of 256MB RAM.

The target consumers for this product will be just about anyone who writes and needs to back up his work.

Pricing and Availability:
The product is priced at $ 183.90 per unit and is available online on Firebox and Amazon, as well as in stores as well.

Watch this:
I think it’s a great product. Period! It can be used for any function that requires taking notes as well as being able to store for later usage. This utility helps people who aren’t very savvy with a keyboard or can’t take one around with them. If you are an old-fashioned kind of a guy/gal, it also brings back the charm and feel of using a pen, while still being able to maintain digital records. A great plus for creative writers, easily!

The only drawback that I foresee is that the battery life for the Z-Pen [not the USB receiver], but that’s a small price to pay for the convenience as described above.
