You can touch the 3D with Heads-Up virtual reality device

Created by researchers at the University of California, San Diego, the Heads-Up virtual reality device lets you touch and feel the 3D images. It combines the services of consumer 3D HDTV panel that is placed above the half-silvered mirror and a touch-feedback device, which is placed under the mirror. The basic use of the mirror is reflecting the image from the panel and then back to the user. When the user plays with the touch-feedback device, the correct perspective view is generated by tracking the position of the head of the user. And this maneuvering of the feedback device below the mirror makes the hand of the user visible, which gives an illusion that the user is touching the 3D.
