Yahoo and TiVo struck a deal in which users of the 2nd series of TiVo boxes will be able to schedule their recordings from a Yahoo program listing directly.
This means that if you are out of your house and realize that you have forgotten to schedule a recording of a particular show, you can do so by logging into your Yahoo account, by selecting the show and clicking record to TiVo. The service will then proceed to program your TiVo box, so it can record the show you had selected.
With Microsoft, Yahoo and Google getting bullish about making TV shows available online, this could be a great opportunity for TiVo to get even more content in multiple ways.
Users can also search for videos/home videos, download them and watch them at their own convenience. Services could also be extended to allow the TiVo users to connect to each other and share videos that are there on their drives.
