Oregon State University researchers have created the world's first completely transparent integrated circuit. The transparent IC was created from inorganic compounds, which is another major step forward for the rapidly evolving field of transparent electronics.

The circuit is a five-stage 'ring oscillator', commonly used in electronics for testing and new technology demonstration.
Needless to say, that this marks a significant breakthrough on the path toward functioning transparent electronics applications, which many believe could be a large future industry.
