World's First Train Simulation System with full hi-def video created by Fujitsu
Here’s a great testament to the contribution of video games in the development of technologies more applicable in our daily lives. IT and communications solutions giant Fujitsu have collaborated with video game and simulator develops Ongakukan to create the world’s first train simulation system that is accompanied by full high-def video. Using variable speed playback of footage shot on actual train tracks, the video game provides an unprecedented level of realism in the high-def simulation to train operator training materials. A great improvement on the existing simulators in use till date, the video game will offer more accurate responses to the trainees’ inputs giving them a better estimate of the operational environment thus helping them improve on their level of professional skill. The Fujitsu Train Simulation System is commercially available starting today and the firm hopes to sell over 100 units of the system over the next three years to railway operators, train and transport museums and children’s facilities.
