World's first multi touch mouse concept by Apple
With the successful launch of its iPhone, it appears that Apple is now busy in incorporating the multi-touch technology wherever it can possibly do so. Its first attempt is an endeavour to build a mouse that can slot in the multi-touch feature neatly on its transparent shell.

The patent filed with USTPO for this innovation explains that the new mouse will offer touch sensitive surface that will function by using an in-built camera to view illuminated surface. As this mouse has no buttons, it is your fingers that will indicate touches and will result in changes in illumination.

The mouse will then identify different movements of your hand and fingers by exploiting its touch sensitive technology to show diverse actions of moving or rotating things on your computer. I am sure that the future prospects of this ultramodern mouse are bright and could consist in including some security features like user identification through recognition of unique finger prints.
Difficult to say when we can expect a device along these lines. But Apple has once again secured its future by applying for patent well in advance.
