carbon counter2
For the green hoodies New York’s the place to be, because erected outside the Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, by the Deutsche Bank is a 70-feet-tall digital billboard which is up there, unveiled by the Bank’s Asset Management dept., to count in real time the amount of greenhouses gases present in the atmosphere. Lit by 41,000 low-energy LEDs and touted as the world’s first real-time carbon counter, developed by scientists at MIT, it stands there to keep the world informed of the amount of global warming-causing gases we are producing. According to the current reading, the CO2 count is at 3.64 trillion tons and if that’s some number, consider that the count is increasing at the rate of 800 tons a second.
