World’s first flexible OLED tree, Christmas tree?

Posted By: Bharat BhushanSharma | Dec 18 2008

It’s time already to shop for the family Christmas tree. There are obvious reasons to believe that the Christmas trees will be green. The one in your home this Xmas may be green only in color, but this one installed at GE’s Global Research Center headquarters in Niskayuna, NY, is green both in color and sustainability. The revolutionary lighting concept is made by wrapping a fully functioning 6-inch by 15-foot OLED screen around a stand, making it the world’s first flexible OLED tree. The lads at GE have done a great job in demonstrating the roll-to-roll OLED fabrication, something we hadn’t seen until now. There's no better way to exhibit the advancements in the OLED technology; follow the video to know how it’s done.
