LED technology is far getting outpaced by the OLED revolution when it comes to lighting solutions and even smaller display screens. But when it comes to taking the first step towards something new, it is still the bigger brother of the diode family that takes the first step. The world’s first 3D LED screen was unveiled by NewSight Corp as they used LED lights much like pixels in a normal display to create a 180-inch giant 3D screen. The firm goes on to claim that they can put together four such displays to create a 360-inch 3D display that is all LED lit!
Apart from the power consumption that is reduced by using the LEDs, the screen offers complete 3D experience with an optimal distance of just 5 meters from the screen. Of course, you can go around tweaking that parameter, as the giant LED display still stands as the first step toward 3D displays that are energy efficient. The new LED display realized 3D representation with the parallax barrier method as the company’s LCD 3D displays. The LEDs were manufactured in China, and NewSight offers 20,000 hours of warranty period on this unique screen. The pricing depends on individual order for now.
