NextComputing specializes in the manufacturing of handy workstations and dense, small footprint servers. Adding to its existing portfolio of mobile computer series known as Radius, it has recently announced the launch of Radius EX-B. Based on Radius EX, this newly introduced Radius EX-B comes with an integrated battery that allows complete mobility. Employees working in critical environments like oil and gas units, military settings, digital video production houses and network testing firms require well-built hardware that can meet their demanding requirements.

Such places where mission accomplishment is of utmost importance lay stress on the availability and usage of features like completely powered CPUs, top of the line 3D graphics, quick RAID storage and PCI expansion slots. In order to get the desired performance, often users of such applications are forced to use devices like towers and rack mount servers that are huge and nonmobile. With the launch of NextComputing's Radius EX - B, users will not have to compromise on the movability factor.

Similar to other portable products launched by NextComputing, Radius EX-B is designed as a one stop solution to the problem of performance versus mobility. It is capable of providing both, workstations and high-end servers, performance in a nonbulky package that is easy to transport. Radius EX-B resembles a briefcase and can be set up without much hassle. It is different from other NextComputing portable products as it has the ability to function in the absence of a power source. This feature designed by NextComputing is a one of a kind desktop class system that offers several advantages such as running the unit and moving it around in the absence of a power source.
The Radius EX-B also comes with a carrying case, compact chassis with leather handles and an optional rolling case with a telescoping handle. NextComputing’s President/CTO, Bob Labidini elaborates “Our portable workstations and servers serve customers across several markets. In addition to being small in size and light in weight, these mobile systems are flexible and highly capable. The design of Radius EX - B proves that it is possible to run powerful enterprise class computers without external sources of power. Customers can now run their applications with a fully functional, mobile, all in one workstation from any part of the world.”
