The bq51013 is an much more superior, sophisticated integrated, receiver IC for wireless power transfer in portable applications. The bq5103 wireless chip would provide 5W of output power with a peak efficiency of 93%, which can be compared to an AC adaptor. The new receiver is a full wireless power control on a small 1.9 x 3mm WCSP package; which helps reducing the PCB area by 80-percent from its first generation solution.

The bq51013 receiver permits designers to incorporate wireless power technology into their existing and new applications with negligible impact to solution size. Power supply for down-system electronics can be generated by rectifying and regulating the AC signal from the receiver coil. In order to even out the power transfer process via back-scatter modulation, a feedback mechanism is established from the secondary to the transmitter. The device amalgamates a low impedance full synchronous rectifier, low-dropout regulator, digital control, and accurate voltage and current loops. In order to achieve greater efficiency and low power indulgence, the entire power stage utilizes low resistive NMOS FET’s.
