When Windows 7 shows its face, it will come equipped with a built-in multi-touch interface. There are some multi-touch PCs in the market already, and Microsoft senses that touch interfaces will gain in popularity, and Windows 7 could ride the wave by being the first to reach there. Multi-touch will find application in retail, public spaces and on laptops. Windows Touch will have features like drag, scroll, zoom, flick, rotate, tap and double tap.

Internet Explorer and Windows Media Center are among the programs that will be optimized for touch. Programs that aren’t optimized for touch will havethe feature will be available in some basic form, like scrolling.
