The Samsung Electronics Korea has showcased their WiBro service on a moving bus during the Wimax Summit 2006. The facility of this WiBro will enable the user to have seamless communication on the move.

WiBro is a wireless broadband internet technology being developed by the Korean telecom industry.

The Korean government allotted 100 MHz spectrum out of the 2.3 GHz in the year 2002 and in the year Phase I of the technology was standardized.

The WiBro can offer data exchange at the rate of 30 to 50 Mbit/s in the radius of 1 to 5 Km from the WiBro base station.

The inclusion of the Quality of Service gives WiBro the advantage of transfer of data and video in reliable manner and gives it a edge over Wimax technology but the use of licensed spectrum which may or may not be available in other countries can hamper the growth of WiBro and may even stop it from becoming a global standard.

WiBro is quite exact in its requirement and needs a dedicated licensed spectrum and equipment but on the other hand the Wimax leaves much of this technicality to the equipment provider.
