HDTV technology has almost reached saturation level with manufacturers now looking at OLED and 3D TV technology in their pursuit for clarity and low power consumption. In a last minute bid to make it's HDTVs a little more attractive, Westinghouse has plonked in an integrated DVD player into one of it's 40 inch HDTVs. The VK-40F580D HDTV also has two auto-sensing HDMI inputs that will automatically detect once an external video source is activated. What this design essentially does is, it saves you a whole load of space which you otherwise will need for a DVD player. Another bit of neat innovation is the Spinedesign which brings all the ports of this HDTV to it's side. This makes accessing all the ports of this HDTV very convenient. Now, it remains to be seen whether this design of integrating a DVD player in an HDTV is well received by the marketplace. If that happens, we could soon see a plethora of brands adopting this innovative design.
