Western Digital intros world’s fastest 10,000RPM SATA hard drive

Keeping its notch high in hard disk drive market, Western Digital has unveiled a newly developed family of 10,000RPM SATA 2.5-inch, 6 Gb/s hard drives. Dubbed the VelociRaptor these one-of-a-kind hard drives, with rotation speeds boosted by 15%, are available in 450 and 600GB capacities for both Mac and PC and can also be used in servers. The drives that garner the said RPM speeds courtesy the SATA 6Gb/s interface, are designed to mission-critical enterprise-class standards and therefore highest available reliability rating on a high capacity SATA drive.
