Wearable sensors to monitor health 24x7

Advanced Institute of Wearable Environmental Information Networks has developed a unique sensor based monitoring tool to keep a check on elders’ health. Marketed by Marubeni, the technology remotely monitors a person’s health who wears the sensory device on the chest 24x7. This 5mm thick, 3×3cm sensor lets families and medical professionals monitor a wearer’s vital signs like body temperature, heart rate etc around the clock. There isn’t anything that the wearer has to do to operate the system, an advantage that sets this sensory device apart from the other similar wearable monitoring systems. The sensors are already selling in Japan for $350 each, but there’s a catch with it – the collected data has to be sent to a computer for monitoring, but the system has to be near the person being monitored, which makes it a more fixed alternative.
