Wearable personal navigation system made available as a pair of glasses

People have benefited from personal navigation systems, they’ve made traveling easy and fun for all with the pinpoint directional information. But, like all good things have bottlenecks, the navigation systems too have their limitations. To improve upon their constraints, researchers at Nakajima Lab at the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo have developed a pair of glasses which cuts on the navigation system user’s continuous need of watching the system for information.

The glasses embedded with battery, LEDs, microcomputer and a magnetic direction sensor, courtesy the sensor recognize which way the user is facing and accordingly the LEDs light up in red and green indicating wrong or right direction. The user feeds destination on a microcomputer, while the present location is detected using GPS by the glasses. This allows the user to be guided to his/her destination without having to frequently check the navigation system for the directions. Do check the video demonstration below.
