wireless heart failure detection device
Many technologies are available out there, which measure a patient’s heart rate, respiration etc. The only problem with them is, either they aren’t easily portable or else they have to be implanted. Here comes a simple FDA approved alternative for all heart patients – a 15-centimeter externally wearable and wirelessly operated waterproof sensor patch, which works as an automated device to detect early signs of heart failure.

The sensor patch measures a patient’s heart rate, temperature, respiration along with body positioning and fluid availability using sensors and accelerometer. The small impedance monitor built-in assists the sensors to collect and then transfer this collected data to a patient’s portable phone like device, from where the data can be further beamed to a doctor, to be checked on a mobile device or over the web, all around the clock.

Being marketed by Corventis, the device is also under testing to check its ability to diagnose sleep apnea. The sensor with genuinely real time activity can help patients, minimizing the incidence of hospitalization. Given the functionality it intends to improve clinical conditions, monitoring just well the patient’s cardiac health to the subtlest of changes.
