Wearable Absence garment cools you down with your lover’s emotion

We all live in a world of emotions, where only that comforting voice or a glance at the loved one can be a calming aspect. Taming this instinct of human behavior, Professor Barbara Layne of Concordia University in Montreal, and Professor Janis Jefferies of the University of London, as part of the 2010 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences have developed Wearable Absence - a garment which comforts the wearer by evoking memories of absent loved ones.

Intelligent wear is stuffed in with sensors and bio sensing devices, which keep a constant track on the wearers, temperature, galvanic skin response, respiration and heart rate. The concerned data is wirelessly transferred to a Internet base which responds with previously-recorded messages from an absent person – these in the form of audio files, text or photographs played via, speakers and LED displays stitched into the fabric. Not all of us would be equally amused by these garments, because not all of us share same behavior, therefore the developers believe the technology would have varying applications in healthcare and other patient related chores.
