Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, in partnership with Signage SA, has developed a Watch@Tablet designed especially to cater to the quick and easy information requirements of a luxury watch buyer. I often lose interest in buying an expensive watch that strikes me for its looks, because that salesman on the other side of the counter cannot explain why the watch is so expensive or what’s the best way to use it. And buying a watch without knowing anything about it is pretty identical to buying a car and not knowing anything about it, therefore for all those uninformed and experienced salespersons the Watch@Tablet could be a handy induction.
How does this special purpose computer function?
Sans a keyboard, the Tablet PC is all touchscreen, and comes with embedded software, which keeps the system up to date with the latest information, along with latest product videos and presentations that can be accessed wirelessly on the system itself. The Wi-Fi-enabled device presents all the information to the salesperson so that he or she can impart even more peculiarities of the product to the customers, who can also view the information themselves.

Only member brands of the FHH will draw benefits of the Watch@Tablet initially, benefits of multimedia presentation that are bound to put them way ahead of their other counterparts in luxury watch market. We have no details on the price of this nifty device, but whatever it may be, the Watch@Tablet will be a big sale with departmental stores and big retail outlets.
